Naughty or Nice
With Christmas just around the corner, we asked each of our Admins, if they were on Santa’s nice list, what Land Rover Gift would they like.

Violet
For Yule this year I’d mainly love the stout gentleman in the distinctive suit (Sir Toppham?) to bring me PARTS!
For Aryette my 88In I’d ask them to bring me: the welding repair to her exhaust as she’s nicely blown a hole in the custom-made downpipe (normally this wouldn’t bother me, but being soo close to the turbo she sounds like a tractor & not in a good way!)
For Tak my 86In I’d ask them to bring me the disc brake conversion she soo desperately needs as I’m once again fed up of replacing wheel cylinders
For Zebby my 110 CSW I’d just like her back, with a cease of her Exxon Valdez cosplay
But most of all for Ary, my beloved 109In I’d love to get her a replacement galvanised chassis so her restoration can begin. Happy Holidays all!

Above – Violet looks wistfully on as the Forward Control delivers her spare parts!
Emma
With an active dog life and an even more active child life, I need something to suit my family needs. Obviously, Victor my Series 3 Tdi Auto is already perfect, but if I had to choose another Land Rover, what would it be?
Well for me there is only one choice, a Defender 130 Crew Cab. With seating for five in forward facing seats, it certainly ticks the family box. In the rear, under a cover of course, there would be room for my canine friends and the smell of wet dog after one of our walks would be contained in the rear!
However, if it doesn’t have to be a Land Rover I would love an Austin Champ. Ever since I drove my friends nearly 20 years ago, I have wanted one. They are so much fun going backwards super-fast in 4th gear! LOL

Above – Emma’s would like a Defender 130 – However it would have to be Purple!
Debbie
I already own my dream Land Rover. It’s my Discovery 2 – Larry. However, if I had made the nice list, and Santa brought me a 101 Forward Control, I would be a very happy woman. Why do you ask? I always thought the box look of Land Rover’s was what made them cool. The squarer the better, and it doesn’t get more square than a Forward Control. A vehicle of that size would make a stunning camper, would be hilariously fun to drive and just look amazing. I’d paint it a bright colour and take it all over the place. What a fantastic adventure it would be!

Above – Who doesn’t love a 101 Forward Control! Certainly not our Deb’s – She just wants it in a brighter colour!
David
I hate Christmas, but I’ll have an Aston Martin DBX.
Editors Note – You don’t deserve an Aston Martin. You had to select a Land Rover product, so we have chosen for you. In light of your heavy right foot and numerous speeding encounters, we have, for your safety and the general publics, awarded you a Series 2B Forward Control with a 2 ¼ Litre Diesel engine. Probably the slowest production vehicle Land Rover have ever made.

Above – With a heavy right foot, it would be safe for all if Dave drove something a bit more sedate. With a kerb wait north of 2 tonne and only 62 bhp it was probably the slowest production Land Rover ever made. Perfect for Dave.

Not one for the traditional enthusiast I admit, but for me this is the Swiss Army knife of Land Rover products. The Defender OCTA. As capable as any Defender off road, apart from deep wading where, thanks to its taller stance, it can wade deeper than any production Land Rover product ever. With its 4.4 litre twin turbo V8 engine under the bonnet, it can accelerate as quick as most super cars and with its trick 6D suspension can also keep up in the corners. It’s a marvel of engineering and I just want one!

Above – It may be not to every ones taste, but the OCTA is a marvel of British engineering
Rich
Ask any Land Rover owner what they want for Christmas, and I am sure you will get a great variety of answers ranging from a working one to a rare, but crucial, part to a specific tool to a can of petrol and a lighter! 😮
I have a couple of things on my list of would love to have but realise they are dreams, at the moment. One would be a well-lit, close to home, nice warm workshop with a four-post lift, large compressor and air-bank with outlets every few feet.
The other would be a classic three door Range Rover in blue, probably petrol and almost certainly a V8. One of my earliest memories of Land Rovers is with my grandfather. He had a couple but the one I recall best is his classic Range Rover, bought new shortly after they were launched. This model has, to my mind, a classic stand out style that will look at home pretty much anywhere and are capable of fulfilling nearly any task asked of them, from farm to royalty transport.
So, if Santa is reading this and it’s not too late, I would love to wake up on Christmas morning to find a classic blue V8 three-door Range Rover parked on the drive, with the keys hanging under the Christmas tree.

Above – Rich would like a Classic V8 Range Rover in blue, and what a great choice that is. Who wouldn’t want this under their tree this year?
