Defender Triumphs

Defender Rally have continued their run of success with a one, two & Three at 2026 Desafío Ruta 40, held in Argentina.  

Racing in the simply unbeatable Defender Dakar D7X‑R Stéphane Peterhansel, and navigator Mika Metge crossed the finish line in a time of 18 hours, 11 minutes & 12 seconds snatching victory in the Stock class.

Team Mates Rokas Baciuška and Oriol Vidal took second, while the all female crew of Sara Price and Saydiie Gray taking third. This was the first time an all-female crew had competed in Desafío Ruta 40 and achieved a stage win

The next round of the World Rally‑Raid Championship is Rallye du Maroc which takes place in Morocco from 28 September – 3 October 2026
