Land Rover Season is go
If Ian thought April was busy, that has nothing on May!

It’s fair to say that the Land Rover season is now in full swing. As I write this, tomorrow (Sunday 26th April) is drive it day, where you are encouraged to take to the roads in your classic car. The day usually coincides with the Series 1 club meet at Bolton Abbey, which this year, unfortunately, I won’t be attending. Last weekend saw me get Eeyore my 100” V8 out of hibernation for a trip to the Skirlington Motor show. The Series 123 club had a stand, and it seemed a fitting idea to put some miles under its wheels. However, with a thirsty V8 under the bonnet, a liking for Premium Unleaded and the current price of fuel it was an expensive day to say the least. However I did get a chance to catch up with some old friend and the weather was brilliant so it wasn’t all bad.
April also meant a trip to the Tomcat Academy, and you can read all about it in this issue. That was indeed a fantastic day, and so far, a highlight of my year. May is also going to be a busy month, with the Gaydon Land Rover Show, Castlewood 4×4 and the LRM Malvern show all back-to-back. LRLife has stands at the latter two and if you are visiting, please come along and say hello. We will have free stickers to give away for a start! New, for this year, will be a Club Gazebo and Club branded flags, so you should be able to see us from afar! Castlewood will also be my first camping weekend of the year, so it will be time to dig out all my gear and ensure its all in good condition.
With all this going on, I am not sure how we found time to celebrate 15 years of the Evoque, but we did. This vehicle brought a whole new customer base to the brand and is still going strong today. Again, you can read all about it in this latest issue.
And finally, don’t forget the Waterside Weekender, which is a Laning and Camping weekend held in Edale. Booking is essential and places are filling up fast. You can find out more in the events page.
