Land Rover introduces two new Discovery models, Tempest and Gemini

The current iteration of the Land Rover Discovery has been with us since 2017 and since the introduction of the Defender has somewhat been a poor relation. In order to inject new life into the Discovery Land Rover has introduced two new variants, called the Tempest and Gemini. If those names look familiar, then you are correct. Both are a nod to the Discovery’s 35 year heritage.
The Tempest takes its name from the Discovery 2, during its initiation it was called Project Tempest. The Tempest is the new halo model for the range and is billed as the most highly specified Discovery ever produced. Available in 3 colours, you can also specify a matte protective film, something that was available on the Defender from Launch. Charente Gray, Varesine Blue or Carpathian Gray are all available and designed to be complimented by a contrasting roof of either Petra copper Gloss or Narvik Glass Black . Wheel wise you get 22″ Diamond Turned alloys, with Petra copper accents.
Gemini takes us all the way to the start of the Discovery timeline. When introduced back in 1989, the Discovery had an all new Tdi engine, and the project name of this engine? You guessed it Gemini.
You can have your Discovery Gemini in one of six colours, including for the first time Sedona Red which was introduced last year on the Defender 130. All six-colours come with a Narvik gloss black contrast roof. On each corner you get a 21” Seven spoke Diamond turned silver alloy wheel.
Both editions come in D350 MHEV guise, with the 3-litre 6-cylinder Ingenium engine with Mild Hybrid technology.
