Land Rover to tackle the Dakar

JLR have announced that, starting in 2026, it will be entering a three-vehicle team in the Dakar rally as part of its 3 year FIA World Rally-Raid Championship campaign. Two of the vehicles will then take part in the 4 other rounds of the championship.
The vehicle of choice will be the Defender, entering the newly formed “Stock” category for production-based vehicles.
As part of the program, JLR will also supply support and recce vehicles in its remit of official car partner to Dakar.
